Ordering and Delivery Information

What is the cut-off time for same-day dispatch?

Orders placed before 3:00pm Monday to Friday are dispatched the same day.
Orders placed after 3:00pm on a Friday are dispatched the following Monday.
There are no courier collections or deliveries on bank holidays or public holidays.

This helps us provide one of the fastest dispatch times for UK number plate orders.

Does delivery cost more if I add additional plates or items?

No. MUZZPLATE uses a single flat-rate delivery charge, regardless of how many number plates or accessories you order.

Do you offer free delivery?

We do not currently offer free delivery. We use high-quality, reliable couriers to ensure fast and secure delivery, which is not cost-effective to offer for free.

Is the packaging plain? I am ordering number plates as a gift.

Yes. Our packaging is plain, but we seal parcels with branded tape and labels.
If you prefer completely unbranded packaging, simply email us after ordering and we will use plain tape instead.

Which delivery companies do you use?

We ship all orders using trusted, fully tracked courier services including:
Royal Mail, Evri, Yodel, DPD, DHL, FedEx.

This ensures reliable and traceable delivery of your number plates.

What should I do if my number plates haven’t arrived?

Check the tracking link sent in your dispatch email and review the estimated delivery date.
If the parcel has not arrived within the stated timeframe, contact us and we will follow up with the courier and resolve the issue quickly.

What if my number plates arrived damaged?

If the packaging is visibly damaged, sign for the parcel as “Damaged”.
If the damage is internal, take photos as soon as you open the package and send them to us via our Contact page.
We will raise a claim with the courier and send a replacement immediately.

What if items are missing from my order?

All orders are produced under CCTV and checked before dispatch, but mistakes are still possible. If anything is missing or incorrect, contact us and we will resolve the issue as a priority.

Number Plate Design and Legal Requirements

Can I see a preview of my number plates before buying?

Yes. Our online Number Plate Designer shows a real-time preview of your number plate exactly as it will be manufactured.

How should my UK registration be spaced to be road-legal?

UK number plates must follow the DVLA spacing rules. Only one space is permitted, and it must be placed exactly where shown on your V5C logbook.

If you are unsure, contact us before ordering.

If I enter no spaces or multiple spaces, will my plates be made that way?

Yes. Your plates will be made exactly as designed.
Our builder provides spacing warnings, but the final layout is your responsibility.

Do your number plates include the British Standard mark?

Yes. All road-legal plates include the required British Standard mark in the bottom right corner.
You can choose to remove this (for show plates only) by selecting "No" in the Legal Details option on the designer.

What are Legal Details on number plates?

Legal Details include the plate supplier’s name, postcode, and the British Standard code.
These are legally required for road-legal UK number plates but can be removed for show plates if selected in the designer.

What is the difference between number plates and show plates?

Road-legal number plates meet strict DVLA and British Standard requirements.
Show plates are for display only and are not legal for use on public roads.
MuzzPlates specialises in high-quality, road-legal number plates.

Can I view a design before you make the plates?

Yes. Our online builder shows your exact design before purchase.
We manufacture plates exactly as shown in the final preview unless a small modification is needed to improve quality.

Sizes, Fitment, and Custom Options

What is the standard number plate size in the UK?

The most common size is 520mm x 111mm (20.5" x 4.4").
Many imported vehicles, 4x4s, and motorcycles use different sizes, so we recommend measuring before ordering.
All available sizes can be chosen in our designer.

Can you make a custom number plate size not listed online?

Yes. We can produce almost any size or shape.
Use our Contact page to request a custom size.

Can I order a single number plate instead of a pair?

Yes. You can select Front Only, Rear Only or Both Plates within the builder.

How do I fit my number plates?

Legal Compliance and Documentation

Are you DVLA registered to make number plates?

Yes. MUZZPLATE is fully DVLA registered.
Our registration number is: 74420

This ensures all road-legal plates meet DVLA and British Standard requirements.

How long after sending my documents will my order be dispatched?

If your documentation arrives before 3pm on a weekday, we aim to dispatch the same day.
Documents received after 3pm may dispatch the next working day.

Cancellations, Amendments, and Warranty

Can I cancel or change my order after placing it?

If production has not started, we may be able to assist.
Once documentation is approved and the order enters manufacturing or dispatch, it cannot be changed or cancelled.
Contact us immediately if you need help.

How long do I have to cancel my order?

Contact us as soon as possible during office hours.
Orders cannot be cancelled once production has started.

Do your number plates come with a warranty?

Yes. All Muzzplate products come with a standard 2-year manufacturer warranty.

How long should my number plates last?

Our plates are manufactured from high-quality materials and are designed to last several years or more under normal conditions.
