Terms of Service – MUZZPLATES

Last updated: 19/03/2026

These Terms of Service govern the purchase of products from MUZZPLATES (“we”, “us”, “our”). By placing an order through our website, you agree to these Terms.

1. About MUZZPLATES

MUZZPLATES supplies custom number plates and related products. We reserve the right to update these Terms from time to time by publishing the revised version on our website.

2. Custom Products and Customer Responsibility

All number plates sold by MUZZPLATES are made to order using the details selected and submitted by the customer.

It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that all order details are correct before checkout, including but not limited to:

  • vehicle registration number
  • spacing and layout requested
  • plate size and shape
  • plate style, finish, border and badge options
  • delivery information

Products will be manufactured using the information submitted with the order. MUZZPLATES is not responsible for errors made by the customer during the ordering process, including incorrect registration details, spacing choices, style selections or address details.

3. Personalised Goods and Cancellation

Most MUZZPLATES products are made to the customer’s specification and are therefore personalised or bespoke goods.

Under UK consumer law, consumers normally have cancellation rights for online distance sales, but this right does not usually apply to goods made to a customer’s specification or clearly personalised. Where your order falls within that exception, you will not have a right to cancel once production has begun.

Accordingly:

  • orders cannot be cancelled once manufacturing has started
  • change-of-mind cancellations are not accepted for personalised products
  • customer entry errors are not eligible for refund or replacement at our cost

If you need to amend an order, you must contact us immediately after placing it. We may be able to make changes before production starts, but we cannot guarantee this.

4. Refunds, Returns and Faulty Items

Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights.

Because our products are custom-made, returns and refunds are not accepted for:

  • change of mind
  • incorrect information entered by the customer
  • preferences relating to style, spacing or options chosen at checkout

Refunds, repairs or replacements may be offered where:

  • we have made a manufacturing error
  • the item arrives damaged
  • the product is faulty
  • the item is not as described

If your order arrives damaged, faulty or incorrect, you must contact us within 48 hours of delivery and provide:

  • your order number
  • a description of the issue
  • clear photographs showing the problem and, where relevant, the packaging

We will review the issue and, where appropriate, provide a repair, replacement or refund.

5. Orders and Acceptance

All orders are subject to acceptance by MUZZPLATES. We reserve the right to refuse, delay or cancel an order where:

  • required proof of identity or entitlement is not provided
  • we are unable to verify the registration entitlement
  • the order appears unlawful, misleading or fraudulent
  • there is an obvious pricing, description or system error

If we cancel an order before manufacture begins, any payment taken for that order will be refunded.

6. Delivery

Delivery times shown on our website or at checkout are estimates only and are not guaranteed.

Once an order has been dispatched, delays caused by postal operators or courier services are outside our reasonable control and will not, by themselves, create a right to cancel or refund.

We will assist with tracking and delivery issues where reasonably possible.

It is the customer’s responsibility to provide a correct delivery address. We are not responsible for loss, delay or additional costs caused by incorrect address details supplied by the customer.

7. Road-Legal Number Plates

MUZZPLATES is a DVLA-registered number plate supplier.

Road-legal number plates will only be manufactured where the customer provides the documents and information required by law. GOV.UK states that a registered supplier must see original documents proving the customer’s name and address and showing entitlement to use the registration number.

By placing a road-legal order, the customer confirms that:

  • they are legally entitled to display the registration mark
  • the information and documents supplied are accurate
  • the registration will be displayed lawfully

We reserve the right to refuse, delay or cancel any road-legal order if satisfactory documentation is not supplied or if we are not satisfied that legal requirements have been met.

Reference to road-legal compliance applies only where the product ordered, documents supplied and manufacturing outcome meet the relevant legal requirements.

8. Show Plates

Any show plates supplied by MUZZPLATES are for off-road, display, exhibition or private land use only. They are not intended for lawful use on public roads unless they independently comply with all applicable legal requirements.

The customer accepts full responsibility for ensuring lawful use of any show plate product.

9. Registration Misuse and Customer Warranties

By placing an order, you confirm that the registration number provided is lawful and that you are entitled to use it where required.

MUZZPLATES accepts no liability for customer misuse, unlawful display, misrepresentation, or any penalty, enforcement action or loss arising from:

  • incorrect customer-supplied information
  • unlawful use of a show plate
  • unlawful spacing, display or fitting after delivery

10. Documentation, Records and Disclosure

As a registered number plate supplier, we may request proof of identity and proof of entitlement before manufacturing road-legal plates.

DVLA guidance states that registered number plate suppliers must keep sales records for three years and make them available on request to the police, DVLA, DVSA and Trading Standards.

We may therefore:

  • request and review relevant documents
  • delay or cancel orders if documents are not provided
  • retain required sales records for the legally required period
  • disclose information where required by law or lawful request

Further information about how we use personal data is set out in our Privacy Policy. ICO guidance says privacy information should explain the purposes of processing, retention periods, sharing, and individual rights.

11. Intellectual Property

All website content, including text, branding, graphics, images, logos and original copy, is the intellectual property of MUZZPLATES unless otherwise stated.

You may not reproduce, distribute, copy or exploit any part of our website or branding without our prior written permission.

12. Limitation of Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or your statutory consumer rights.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, MUZZPLATES shall not be liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss of income, loss of use, vehicle-related penalties, or other losses arising from incorrect information supplied by the customer or unlawful use of products after delivery.

Our liability for any claim relating to your order shall, where permitted by law, be limited to the amount paid for the relevant product.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, unless mandatory consumer law provides otherwise.
