Documents Required for Number Plates
All MUZZPLATES number plates are supplied through the proper legal process. As a DVLA-registered supplier, we are required to verify both identity and entitlement before manufacturing plates.
This is not optional. It is part of the legal process for supplying replacement number plates in the UK.
What Documents Do I Need?
You must provide:
- One proof of identity
- One proof of entitlement to the registration
Both are required. Orders cannot proceed without them.
Proof of Identity
You must provide one of the following:
- Driving licence (photocard)
- Passport
- Armed Forces identity card
- Utility bill (less than 6 months old)
- Bank or credit card statement (less than 6 months old)
- Council tax statement
- Birth certificate (must be supported by additional ID)
Your document must clearly show your name and address and be fully readable. Blurred, cropped or incomplete documents will be rejected.
Proof of Entitlement
You must provide one of the following to prove you have the legal right to the registration:
- V5C logbook (most common)
- V750 certificate of entitlement
- V778 retention document
- V11 tax reminder
- Temporary import documents
- DVLA or eDVLA letter confirming entitlement
- Number plate authorisation certificate (fleet or lease vehicles)
The registration must legally belong to you or be assigned to your vehicle.
How to Send Your Documents
The process is straightforward. Documents must be provided before production begins.
- Upload documents during checkout when prompted
- Or send them after ordering with your order number included
- Ensure all images are clear, complete and easy to read
We accept JPG, PNG, PDF and clear smartphone photos.
You can also send your documents via WhatsApp to 07405307503. Include your order number.
Why These Checks Matter
Number plates are legal identifiers, not styling parts. These checks are required to:
- Prevent vehicle cloning
- Prevent fraud and misuse of registrations
- Ensure plates are issued to the correct vehicle
At MUZZPLATES, we follow the correct process. Every plate is produced using compliant materials, correct spacing and traceable manufacturing standards.
What Happens If Documents Are Not Provided?
- Your order will be delayed
- Production cannot begin
- Dispatch will not take place
If speed matters, have your documents ready before ordering.
Build Your Plates Properly
If you are ready to order, use the plate builder to configure your plates correctly from the start.
